Professional Journey

My professional journey has developed through two connected forms of work: building software, quantitative systems, projects, and organizations; and examining how people learn, coordinate, perform, and change.

I began working in software in the early 2010s. Over time, front-end and back-end development, real-time market applications, testing, data visualization, infrastructure, and quantitative trading systems became the technical foundation of K2Quant.

As the technical systems and organization grew, questions about communication, responsibility, decision-making, and coordination became as important as questions about code. Since approximately 2017–2018, I have studied and facilitated leadership, coaching, group learning, and organizational practice alongside the engineering work.

That path also includes FamilyLink, a long-running social-impact initiative that is now paused, and Vocora, an open-source learning project that turns a bounded set of questions about memory, retrieval, language practice, motivation, and measurement into working software.

Today, these experiences inform an independent Research portfolio. The portfolio does not treat professional observation as academic proof. It makes the question, evidence type, uncertainty, ethical boundary, and next step visible.

Current Work

1. K2Quant and Building Systems

Through K2Quant, I continue to work on:

  • quantitative and market-related software systems;
  • software engineering, reliability, testing, and maintainability;
  • artificial-intelligence tools and agent-based workflows;
  • research and decision-support tools;
  • company-building and technical operations;
  • team coordination and organizational systems;
  • the relationship between technical decisions and organizational behavior.

K2Quant is both a body of technical work and a real operating environment in which questions about decisions, communication, responsibility, and coordination appear.

2. Human Transformation

Through Human Transformation, I am currently examining:

  • the difference between temporary performance, durable learning, transfer, and transformation;
  • the role of language in attention, interpretation, commitment, and action;
  • identity, worldview, and frames of reference;
  • why a change may depend on the context in which it was created;
  • children’s independent learning and peer teaching through Learning Circle;
  • group coordination, leadership, coaching, and facilitator withdrawal;
  • the design and documentation of programs such as Mastery for Life;
  • the relationship between external conditions, lived experience, and quality of life.

The active questions and their status are recorded in the Human Transformation Research Agenda.

Vocora

Vocora is a bounded research-and-building project within the broader interest in human learning. Its present scope includes:

  • retrieval practice and delayed recall;
  • spaced review and forgetting;
  • vocabulary and spelling practice;
  • feedback after errors;
  • motivation, autonomy, and ethical gamification;
  • the difference between activity, current performance, and durable learning;
  • privacy-conscious learning analytics;
  • context and pattern recognition in language learning.

Vocora does not stand for every question about human transformation. It provides one concrete software setting in which a limited set of learning questions can be made traceable and measurable.

Current Publishing Priorities

The immediate priorities are:

  1. document the Human Transformation research agenda and its revisions;
  2. turn Learning Circle observations into a clearer longitudinal field record;
  3. separate program history, participant self-report, and efficacy claims in leadership material;
  4. publish open questions and field notes without pretending they are final answers;
  5. continue documenting K2Quant and Vocora as the work changes.
