Selected Practice-Based Inquiry and Projects

Human Transformation

Practice-Based Inquiry

An inquiry grounded in practice and concerned with human learning, language, identity, context, performance, leadership, group coordination, and durable change.

The published records from this work:

  • distinguish published evidence, direct observation, participant self-report, interpretation, and hypothesis;
  • document field projects and facilitated programs without presenting them as controlled research;
  • draw on reviewed work across learning science, cognitive science, philosophy, leadership, and organizational research;
  • state privacy, consent, and evidence standards for public field records;
  • connect questions from software, company-building, coaching, groups, and education.

This work is independent and is not presented as an academic affiliation, clinical program, or peer-reviewed research institution.

Learning Circle — Field Project Designer and Facilitator

Practice-based record of programming, peer learning, and group coordination

Learning Circle began as a programming activity with children and became a bounded, practice-based field record about independent learning and group coordination.

  • Used Code.org and programming as a medium for learning how to learn.
  • Designed early sessions around peer support, learner ownership, and teaching others.
  • Gradually transferred session coordination to the children and withdrew from regular attendance.
  • Continued observing the group’s self-coordination, progress, peer teaching, and requests for occasional guidance.
  • Documented alternative explanations, facilitator bias, pre-existing relationships, privacy constraints, and the absence of a control group or standardized outcome.
  • Established a generalized, group-level public record that excludes exact ages, group size, dates, location, school details, relationships to the facilitator, identifiable work products, and individual learning histories.

The current record is a practice-based field observation, not a causal experiment or a claim of permanent transformation.

Field project record

Mastery for Life — Program Designer and Facilitator

2020 – Present

A recurring facilitated program in Persian concerned with language, identity, worldview, responsibility, relationships, and the possibility of human change.

  • Facilitated cohorts ranging from small groups to larger groups and, in some instances, several hundred participants.
  • Used live dialogue, individual and group practice, feedback, reflection, and follow-up.
  • Collected facilitator observations and participant accounts across multiple cohorts.
  • Published a program record that separates source lineage, program design, participant self-report, observed behavior, and claims of efficacy.
  • Documented current limitations, including the absence of standardized baseline, comparison group, longitudinal outcome, and independent evaluation.
  • Removed expired registration language from the permanent research-facing record.

Program record

Founder and Project Lead

Approximately ten years of work — Paused in 2026

FamilyLink was a family-support and social-impact initiative focused on reducing avoidable family separation when material hardship and lack of opportunity were major parts of the problem.

  • Coordinated practical support, caregiver capacity-building, and livelihood-related efforts.
  • Used existing organizational capabilities and external collaboration to operate the project over approximately a decade.
  • Reached a substantial number of children and caregivers according to internal records and current recollection; unaudited totals, identities, locations, and case histories are omitted from the public record.
  • Paused the project when its principal source of support contracted and the project lacked sufficiently independent funding, reserves, governance, and continuity planning.
  • Documented the difference between services delivered and outcomes that were not consistently measured, including whether family separation was prevented or household income became durable.
  • Recorded the safeguarding, privacy, measurement, governance, and funding gaps revealed by the project.

Vocora

Founder and Builder

Vocora is a research-and-building project about learning, memory, language practice, motivation, and learning technology.

Completed and published work includes:

  • Built and deployed a full-stack vocabulary-practice application based on Leitner-style review.
  • Implemented account registration, sign-in, and learning state stored in MySQL for access across devices.
  • Defined product metrics that distinguish practice activity, current performance, and longer-term retention, while documenting that the application does not yet have a validated retention outcome.
  • Published privacy and ethical constraints for progress sharing and gamification.
  • Published research and design notes informed by work on retrieval practice, spaced practice, motivation, and language learning.
  • Released the source code with automated tests and a Docker-based development environment.

Vocora is not presented as an academic affiliation, clinical project, or validated neuroscience intervention. Its published outputs are software and practice-based research documentation.
